Fetal Reassurance Scan/Early Dating Scan - 7 Weeks to 13 Weeks £50
There are many and varied reasons why ultrasound scans are performed throughout pregnancy. .
From time to time we are asked to do a scan because you are anxious about something and you want reassurance.
Most pregnancies proceed without problems. However if you have any doubts we are here to provide the reassurance that you need.
We will show you your baby moving in the womb, the number of babies you are carrying and identify the heartbeat.
Most of the time we can offer this scan with a short waiting list, therefore reducing anxiety. We recommend that you come with a full bladder. This scan does not replace your NHS scan it complements it and offers extra reassurance. If an ultrasound reveals that the baby has a heartbeat, the odds of miscarriage decrease.
This package consists of:
- Scan Period: 7 – 13 weeks.
- 2 x B&W Glossy Photos.
- Confirm number of Babies.
- Approx dating of your Pregnancy
- Identify Heartbeat
Sometimes the scan can be inconclusive, please click here for what is meant by an inconclusive scan
Nuchal Scan (11-13 weeks +6 Days) £160
Performed by an obstetrician, the Nuchal test is a non invasive means for assessing the baby’s risk factor for Down syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities.
This scan is performed at a BUMPS clinic please call 0845 058 3919 to book and for more information and please mention Face2Face
Fetal Anomaly Scan 19 – 24 Weeks £90
What are examined in a fetal anomaly scan?
The scan will show fetal anatomy including lips, nose, legs, feet, heart, lungs, stomach, kidneys, bladders, umbilical cord and placenta.
Doppler Ultrasound will also be performed on the Umbilical Artery and Fetal Heart as well as assessing the amount of amniotic fluid, and measuring fetal growth.
This ultrasound scan is very accurate but unfortunately it cannot diagnose 100% of congenital abnormalities. The only way to know for certain if your baby has a chromosomal problem is to have a CVS or amniocentesis, these are invasive procedures done at a fetal medicine center.
If any abnormalities are detected the significance of the findings will be discussed and you will be given a letter of referral and a clinical report.
