Pelvic Organ Ultrasound Scan £90
This gynaecological scan is available to women of pre-menopausal age. 
We will perform a detailed scan to look at the size, shape and condition of the:
- uterus
- both ovaries
- pelvic area
Common examples for having this ultrasound scan are the detection or exclusion of:
- fibroids
- ovarian cysts
- polycystic ovaries
- missed intrauterine contraceptive devices
- acute and chronic pelvic pain
- abnormal uterine bleeding
May include trans-vaginal / internal scan with consent.
Objectives of gynaecological scanning

Identify normal position, size, shape and texture of pelvic organs

Recognise the physiological changes that occur in them during the cycle

Recognise and describe any changes in these normal characteristics

Relate any change to the various known gynaecological conditions
If for some reason you are unwilling to have your gynaecological scan performed trans-vaginally you will need to drink at least 1 litre of water and wait 1 hour before the scan can be performed trans-abdominally.
